With the goal of elevating its profile in the community while consolidating staff in one place, AECOM, a Fortune 500 company, selected the 15th floor of the Wells Fargo Center in Norfolk to house its new regional office. Branding, the use of sustainable materials and efficiently using space to promote staff collaboration were priorities. A custom LED feature wall projecting the AECOM branding color spectrum highlights the reception desk area. Shared community spaces were pushed to the exterior window walls, allowing city views for staff and visitors alike. In the heart of the office space is an open community break lounge where people can sit and collaborate on work or break for lunch. Furniture systems partitions were kept low to encourage staff interaction. Materials were selected for their durability, sustainable qualities, and their sense of bringing coastal textures indoors. The porcelain tile in the lobby appears to be shifting sand while reclaimed white oak planks add warmth to the walls as well as an interesting aged appearance.
